Jake's Core power is the ability to see an object or person's history through skin contact. He sees it within his mind's eye, meaning his vision goes blank during that time and only for as long as he's touching said person/object. Usually, it is a significant event that involves the thing/person he is touching.
The angle of view is random, and it could be from the character's/object's point of view, it could be looking directly at the character/object, or it could be in a back alley with the character out of view but their voice easily heard, or a glimpse of the object but not the person who was holding it.
These can either be a sequence to several sequences of important events in the character's or object's lifespan, or they can be the whole condensed history of an object in the span of a few minutes. The first will cause minor problems, such as nosebleeds or headaches; the second will cause much more major problems, such as blackouts or temporary blindness.
When he gets better at it, he will be able to project it in front of him in semi-hologram form and play it as if it were a movie (with rewinding/fast forwarding/pause capability), instead of playing it inside his brain. This is the only part of his power he can really control, as well as lessening the bad side effects the better he gets at using his powers. He will also be able to turn it off or on, depending on his skill level. But, everything else about his power is completely random.
While this is not so much an issue for objects, it is an issue for people and the objects people use, so I would like you to fill out this text box so that I can use his power properly:
Character Name: What your character goes by.
Series: What series they're from.
History: Anything that is fair game in your character's history for Jake to find out with his powers. They can be important events due to nostalgia, sheer joy, regret, embarrassment, shaping the character's personality, etc. Provide as much detail as you like, but more is better just in case I don't know the canon.
Objects: Any important items/animals/plants/whatever that your character interacts with often. Please also list any important events that occurred while they were interacting with these objects. For example, a hero defeating his enemy with his trusty sword. For a more personal example, France has a cat, Liliane, who has a separate history from France himself. If Jake were to interact with Liliane, he might see when she was first gifted to France, or when she was a few minutes old and still living at Outer Haven. He might also see a time when France was having an important NV conversation, and Liliane was hiding under the bed with a ball of yarn. Or it could be her whole lifespan in the span of a few seconds to the outside world.
Stipulations: Anything you do not want Jake to find out with his powers. Things like, "Jake is allowed to view any of the events above, but only if he never gets to see my character's true identity" for superheroes, or, "I really don't want him to see the moment my character's parents died", or, "Jake should not see any of my character's interactions with this character", or, "Jake is allowed to see this object's history with my character, except for this scene", or even "Jake is allowed to see this object's history except when my character is holding it".
Anything else?: Anything else I might have left out, or questions you might have.
